Did you know that 92% of business owners find it difficult to get out of bed and go to work in the morning? Obviously I just made that up…but for fun, why don’t we pretend it’s true and come up with a cool reason.
What makes you get out of bed and go to work in the morning? Is it a strong work ethic? Do you operate from a sense of fearing the consequences of not going? Or perhaps you genuinely enjoy what you do? I’ve seen instances where any one of these is true, and they all bring with them their own kind of energy.
The best reason I’ve found to go do what I do is a strong sense of purpose. Purpose in this sense is “what something is used for” and in this case I’m referring to my business. I use my business to help guide business owners through meaningful change and growth. I decided early on that this would be an important cause for me, so I remind myself each morning about why I’m going to work, and who I’m going to work for. I picture my ideal client deciding on meaningful ways they want things to be different and I picture myself helping them make the changes to get them there. I imagine how great that makes them feel and how it trickles down to the rest of their team and their families. It gives me goosebumps just writing about it. That’s how I know it’s meaningful to me.
What make you excited about going to work in the morning? Maybe that’s what you want to be different for you?
