Behaviour drives all results. Are you making choices that move you forward towards what you really want in your life and business? Whether you are aware of it or not, and usually you are not, all of your behaviour is guided by your subconscious beliefs, and that’s not always serving you well! Here’s what you can do about it.
Step one – Begin to pay attention to your own behaviour and the events that trigger it. Notice the choices you are making and what’s triggering those choices. They could show up as: actions you are taking or not taking, decisions you’re making or not making, or simply as thoughts you are having and how they are making you feel. All of these things are choices, often made subconsciously. Take back control.
Step two – A belief is something you hold to be true. So, ask yourself; “What must I be holding on to in order to produce this behaviour”? It’s often something like – “I’m not good enough, smart enough or worthy enough”. Which of course is only true if you decide it’s true. You can choose to make a shift in your thinking.
Step three – Identify a new more empowering belief that you choose to have as part of your life and practice focusing in on it whenever you experience the trigger event. It may be something like; “I am worthy of having great opportunities, I am smart enough to handle this, I am great at what I do.” Replace that thought with the disempowering belief routinely until it becomes fully installed. Create incantations to help support the new belief.
Pick one thing and begin by practicing with that until you experience the win. I use this technique with my coaching clients and it takes real persistence and repetition to work – but when it leads to a breakthrough it will be well worth it. Let me know how it goes.
