In spite of the popular notion that people can or are willing to put more than 100% into their work and your business – they can really only put in up to 100%. So how do we get them to move closer to that level in a smooth and natural way?
When our work is aligned with our natural core values, we become engaged and inspired. When they’re not – a little part inside of us dies. I’m using a new “Values Blueprint” tool that helps me identify, understand and resolve values conflict, which is a key to making any business run more smoothly with less effort.
Understanding your values blueprint will bring you and your people more clarity about:
- Who you are
- What you stand for
- Your natural talents
- How to maximize your natural value
Here’s a brief example of how it works in a typical business setting; I work with a company that uses a small sales force to sell software. The sales manager runs his sales system by the numbers and is always pushing his team to close business. Very reasonable, right! One salesman was not doing so well under these conditions, so we applied the values blueprint and made some easy changes to align our sales process and management style with his values. His sales went up %300 in the first month.
